Social Coder partners with the Association for Computing Machinery

10 June 2016

Dear Volunteers and Supporters,

Today I'm excited and proud to announce SocialCoder is partnering with the world's largest scientific and educational computing society, the Association for Computing Machinery.

The ACM and SocialCoder share a common goal of encouraging software engineers to volunteer their professional skills to good causes, so it makes a lot of sense for us to team up.

As a gift of encouragement, the ACM has generously offered professional membership to all SocialCoder volunteers, normally $99, but completely free for volunteers. The only restriction is that the offer applies to new ACM members, not past or lapsed members.

Check out the list of ACM membership benefits and the official ACM announcement for more information.

Anyone who wishes to join the ACM should check the "ACM" option when signing up as a volunteer**.

All best wishes,
Ed Guiness

** Volunteers who didn't check this option when signing up can still apply, just send an email to acm@socialcoder.org - be sure to use the same email address you used to sign up as a volunteer.
